l\u2019article publi\u00e9 dans The Atlantic, les batteries LFP procurent plusieurs avantages strat\u00e9giques sur le champ de bataille moderne:<\/div><ul><li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">elles permettent aux v\u00e9hicules a\u00e9riens sans pilote de larguer leurs charges utiles de fa\u00e7on plus efficace ;<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">elles permettent aux armes guid\u00e9es de cibler avec davantage de pr\u00e9cision les menaces imminentes;<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">elles alimentent des composantes essentielles des sous-marins habit\u00e9s;<\/li><li style=\"margin-bottom: 15px;\">elles fournissent l\u2019\u00e9nergie n\u00e9cessaire \u00e0 des robots terrestres capables d\u2019\u00e9vacuer des bless\u00e9s en temps de guerre. Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 leurs moteurs silencieux, ces robots offrent un avantage tactique important par rapport aux v\u00e9hicules traditionnels \u00e0 moteur \u00e0 combustion interne.<\/li><\/ul><p>Du point de vue militaire \u2014 comme du point de vue civil \u2014 une pr\u00e9occupation majeure demeure le fait que d\u2019autres pays contr\u00f4lent non seulement la quasi-totalit\u00e9 de la production mondiale de batteries LFP (pr\u00e8s de 100 % \u00e0 l\u2019heure actuelle, selon diverses sources), mais \u00e9galement les cha\u00eenes d\u2019approvisionnement des mati\u00e8res premi\u00e8res essentielles \u00e0 leur fabrication. En p\u00e9riode de crise, l\u2019acc\u00e8s \u00e0 ces cha\u00eenes d\u2019approvisionnement pourrait devenir impossible.<\/p><p>Le phosphate repr\u00e9sente 61 % de la masse de la cathode d\u2019une batterie LFP. L\u2019\u00e9tablissement d\u2019une source nord-am\u00e9ricaine de phosphate de qualit\u00e9 batterie constitue donc un enjeu prioritaire pour la s\u00e9curit\u00e9 nationale. L\u2019ampleur de la demande en batteries LFP et en phosphate de haute puret\u00e9 laisse entrevoir une valorisation accrue des gisements de phosphate ign\u00e9 comme source d\u2019approvisionnement privil\u00e9gi\u00e9e. Plus de 90 % du phosphate ign\u00e9 de haute puret\u00e9 peut \u00eatre transform\u00e9 directement en acide phosphorique de qualit\u00e9 batterie, tout en g\u00e9n\u00e9rant des sous-produits recyclables et en minimisant les impacts environnementaux.<\/p><p>Les gisements de phosphate d\u2019anorthosite ign\u00e9e, tels que la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 B\u00e9gin-Lamarche de First Phosphate, sont extr\u00eamement rares et constituent le premier percentile de l\u2019ensemble des gisements de phosphate mondiaux. De plus, First Phosphate Corp. est le seul producteur de phosphate d\u2019anorthosite ign\u00e9e \u00e0 se consacrer enti\u00e8rement et exclusivement au d\u00e9veloppement d\u2019une cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement de batteries LFP de la mine au march\u00e9 en Am\u00e9rique du Nord.<\/p><p>Gr\u00e2ce \u00e0 sa strat\u00e9gie de cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement int\u00e9gr\u00e9e verticalement de la mine au march\u00e9, First Phosphate joue un r\u00f4le central dans l\u2019atteinte de l\u2019objectif commun de rapatriement de la cha\u00eene d\u2019approvisionnement nord-am\u00e9ricaine en batteries LFP.
